This Is What I Am

There comes a point when explanation becomes another form of exhaustion.

You spend years trying to understand what should have been different — what should have hurt less, what should have been forgotten, what should have changed by now.

But some things remain.

Not because they were chosen. Not because they are beautiful. Simply because they became part of the shape you learned to live inside.

This Is What I Am is not a declaration of pride, nor a surrender. It is the quiet recognition of what remains when there is no one left to convince.

The room is still the same. The memories are still there. The shadows have not disappeared.

And for once, there is no attempt to escape them.
